About

The Retford Tourist Information Centre, originally known as the North Notts Artisan & Tourist Information Centre, began its journey in 2015 as a community initiative aimed at bolstering the local economy. Over the years, it has become a vibrant hub for local arts and crafts, featuring an art gallery, a café serving local food, and spaces for artist studios and workshops. The centre has played a significant role in the community, providing a platform for local artists and hosting various events, including the popular Rotary Young Artist Competition.

In 2021, the ownership of the Hub transitioned, and it continues to thrive as the Retford Arts Hub. Although the Mayflower Pilgrim Museum has closed, visitors can still explore a dedicated room at the Bassetlaw Museum that tells the story of the Pilgrim Fathers. This change marks a new chapter in the Hub's history, celebrating the dedication of volunteers and the support from local organizations that have contributed to its success.

Visitors to the Retford Arts Hub can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where creativity flourishes and community spirit shines. The gallery regularly showcases exhibitions, and the annual Young Artist Competition brings a splash of color and excitement to the community, encouraging participation from local schools. The Hub remains a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of supporting local talent, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Retford.
